- Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)

The Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) is a temporary visa for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution.
There are two streams through which an applicant may obtain a 485 visa, the Graduate Stream and Post-Study Work Stream.
Basic Requirements
To be eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa, you must:
- be under 50 years of age
- meet English Language requirements
- meet the Australian study requirement within the last six (6) months
- hold an eligible student visa or you held a student visa within the past 6 months before your application and you now hold a qualifying visa
- have the required health insurance
- meet relevant health and character requirements
Graduate stream specific criteria:
In addition to the above basic requirements applicants on the Graduate Stream must:
- nominate an occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
- lodge a skill assessment on your nominated occupation from the relevant skill assessment body
- have a degree, diploma or trade qualification closely related to that occupation
Post-Study Work stream specific criteria:
In addition to the above basic requirements applicants on the Post-Study Work Stream must:
- have applied for your first (ever) Australian Student visa on or after the 5th of November 2011
- must have completed a Degree qualification or higher in any field of study
